Spida Lee’s second solo project is a mesmerizing blend of music.
Not only do the beats drip with grime and the instruments dance flawlessly across your brain, but the message is deep and intellectual. All the tracks on the album stick to a theme that resonates within the conscious underground vibe.
It’s a very cohesive and intelligent album. There is a militant feel with jazzy undertones , comparable to a slow kiss before a knife in the chest.
I was pleasantly surprised by all the soul that was obviously mixed into this album. My favorite line from this gem was : ” I’d sooner eat crumbs, with bums than, steak with snakes !” on track #5, There are many shining jewels like this throughout the album.
Finally ,The title track : Rise of a King, is destined to be an anthem for those who are in need of an articulate voice for their angst big big ups !!! ~ B. Original
